Richard Maw 8799346862 test: mount overlayfs over /usr in some tests 
Most of the integration tests have been made to not write to /usr
but some genuinely need to do so.

Because mkosi creates images with a read-only /usr
it is not normally writeable.

By mounting an overlayfs with /usr as the lower dir
and upper and working dirs in /var tests may write to /usr.

Franck Bui fd34e27fb9 test: dont use anchor char '$' to match a part of a string 
When anchoring the pattern using '$' regular expression operator it forces '=~'
operator to match the entire string.

Franck Bui b35f71ac1a locale: when no xvariant match select the entry with an empty xvariant 
When doing a conversion and the specified 'xc->xvariant' has no match, select
the x11 layout entry with a matching layout and an empty xvariant if such entry
exists. It's still better than no conversion at all.

Zbigniew Jędrzejewski-Szmek 4481a30855 test: use idiomatic bash loop iteration 
In a few cases, also avoid a sleep in the last (failed) iteration of the loop.
It doesn't matter too much, but it's still ugly.

Zbigniew Jędrzejewski-Szmek 7a17e41dcf test: drop whitespace after shell redirection operators 
(The one case that is left unchanged is '< <(subcommand)'.)

This way, the style with no gap was already dominant. This way, the reader
immediately knows that ' < ' is a comparison operator and ' << ' is a shift.

In a few cases, replace custom EOF replacement by just EOF. There is no point
in using someting like "_EOL" unless "EOF" appears in the text.

Luca Boccassi 1fd579061a locale: rename new XKB variables to match Debian/Ubuntu's 
Debian/Ubuntu use almost the same variables, but without '_'. Given
our usage is new, rename them so that they match and downstream tech
debt can be removed.

Michael Biebl a4bc35740a test: fix TEST-73-LOCALE on Debian 
Fix incorrection assumption about the Debian patch being buggy and
actually making TEST-73-LOCALE fail on Debian.

"n/a" is more ambiguous: not available or not set or maybe we didn't check it.
Let's just say directly that the field is not set.
