We use symbols provided by unistd.h without including it. E.g.
open(), close(), read(), write(), access(), symlink(), unlink(), rmdir(),
fsync(), syncfs(), lseek(), ftruncate(), fchown(), dup2(), pipe2(),
getuid(), getgid(), gettid(), getppid(), pipe2(), execv(), _exit(),
environ, STDIN_FILENO, STDOUT_FILENO, STDERR_FILENO, F_OK, and their
friends and variants, so on.
Currently, unistd.h is indirectly included mainly in the following two paths:
- through missing_syscall.h, which is planned to covert to .c file.
- through signal.h -> bits/sigstksz.h, which is new since glibc-2.34.
Note, signal.h is included by sd-eevent.h. So, many source files
indirectly include unistd.h if newer glibc is used.
Currently, our baseline on glibc is 2.31. We need to support glibc older
than 2.34, but unfortunately, we do not have any CI environments with
such old glibc. CIFuzz uses glibc-2.31, but it builds only fuzzers, and
many files are even not compiled.
This is similar to what we do for veth interfaces in remove_veth_links().
When a container rebooted, macvlan interfaces created by the previous
boot may still exist in the kernel, and that causes -EADDRINUSE after
reboot.
Hopefully fixes#680.
The linux/ headers include linux/libc-compat.h that makes sure the
linux/ headers won't redeclare symbols already declared by net/if.h, but
glibc's net/if.h doesn't do that, so if the include order is reversed
we'll end up with a bunch of errors about redeclared stuff:

This also drops remaining workarounds from the last time this issue was
brought up (6f270e6bd8) since they shouldn't be needed anymore if the
order of the includes is the "correct" one. I also added a comment to
each affected include when this is inevitably encountered again in the
future.
Resolves: #32160
If the requested new name for a network interface is already assigned as a
alternative name, then it is not necessary to and cannot rename the
interface.
This also changes to use sd_device to get some attributes.
So, on moving interfaces back to the parent, we need to populate sysfs
associated to the client netns.
That may look redundant and complicated, but it makes later change
easier, and hopefully faster.
Interface=/MACVLAN=/IPVLAN= nspawn options take a _list_ of interface
names - this was recently enhanced by 2f091b1b49 to support interface
pairs. Unfortunately, this also introduced a regression where we don't
parse the list as a list, but just as a single value. For example,
having `Interface=sd-shared1 sd-shared2` in an nspawn config file would
throw:
systemd-nspawn[898]: Network interface, interface name not valid: sd-shared1 sd-shared2
systemd-nspawn[898]: /run/systemd/nspawn/testsuite-13.nspawn-settings.1po.nspawn:41: Failed to parse file: Invalid argument
Follow-up to 2f091b1b49.
systemd-nspawn now optionally supports colon-separated pair of
host interface name and container interface name for --network-macvlan, --network-ipvlan and --network-interface options.
Also supported in .nspawn configuration files (i.e Interface=, MACVLAN=, IPVLAN= parameters).
man page changed for ntwk interface naming
This is a follow-up for f470cb6d13 which in
turn is a follow-up for a068aceafb.
The latter started to honour hidden files when deciding whether a
directory is empty. The former reverted to the old behaviour to fix
issue #23220.
It introduced a bug though: when a directory contains a larger number of
hidden entries the getdents64() buffer will not suffice to read them,
since we just allocate three entries for it (which is definitely enough
if we just ignore the . + .. entries, but not ig we ignore more).
I think it's a bit confusing that dir_is_empty() can return true even if
rmdir() on the dir would return ENOTEMPTY. Hence, let's rework the
function to make it optional whether hidden files are ignored or not.
After all, I looking at the users of this function I am pretty sure in
more cases we want to honour hidden files.
We don't need a seperate output parameter that is of type int. glibc() says
that the type is "unsigned", but the kernel thinks it's "int". And the
"alternative names" interface also uses ints. So let's standarize on ints,
since it's clearly not realisitic to have interface numbers in the upper half
of unsigned int range.
If /sys is read only filesystem, e.g., nspawn is running in container,
then usually udev is not running. In such a case, let's assume that
the interface is already initialized. Also, this makes nspawn refuse
to use the network interface which is under renaming.
Fixes#14223.
