Daan De Meyer 95d05079bf nsresourced: Add support for self mappings with delegations
mkosi does all of its environment setup in an unprivileged user
namespace with an identity mapping. When it invokes nspawn and nspawn
tries to get a transient userns from nsresourced, this fails as no
transient ranges are mapped into mkosi's unprivileged userns (as doing
so would require privileges).

To fix this problem, let's allow allocating unprivileged self user
namespaces in nsresourced, similar to what the kernel allows, except that
we also support delegations for these. This means that mkosi can get its
unprivileged userns as before from nsresourced, but it can also request a
delegated 64K range inside that userns as well, which nsresourced can then
allocate to nspawn later when it asks for one.

Similar to the kernel, we disallow setgroups for self mappings. However,
instead of doing this via /proc/self/setgroups, which applies to the current
user namespace and all its child user namespaces, we use the BPF LSM to deny
setgroups instead, so that it can still be allowed for child user namespaces.
We need this because as soon as a container launches in a child user namespace
using one of the delegated mappings, it has to be able to do setgroups() to be
able to function properly.

To allow mapping the root user, we need to add the CAP_SETFCAP capability to
nsresourced.

Lennart Poettering 273d14f5dd nsresourced: make sure "tun" driver is properly loaded and accessible
We need access to /dev/net/tun, hence make sure we can actually see
/dev/. Also make sure the module is properly loaded before we operate,
given that we run with limit caps. But then again give the CAP_NET_ADMIN
cap, since we need to configure the network tap/tun devices.

Mike Yuan e803ec1e25 units: unify deps between service and socket units
The current arrangement of service and socket units is
sort of all over the place. Let's clean it up a little,
roughly following the principles below:

- socket units have implicit ordering deps (not to be confused
with default ones which are subject to DefaultDependencies=)
before associated service, so drop any explicit After=

- If socket can be enabled, remember to link to it in service
via Also= and Sockets= (the latter replaces Wants=).
If the service Requires= socket however, Sockets= is omitted.

- If socket is statically enabled, no need for service
to pull it in - machined

Lennart Poettering 8aee931e7a nsresourced: add new daemon for granting clients user namespaces and assigning resources to them
This adds a small, socket-activated Varlink daemon that can delegate UID
ranges for user namespaces to clients asking for it.

The primary call is AllocateUserRange() where the user passes in an
uninitialized userns fd, which is then set up.

There are other calls that allow assigning a mount fd to a userns
allocated that way, to set up permissions for a cgroup subtree, and to
allocate a veth for such a user namespace.

Since the UID assignments are supposed to be transitive, i.e. not
permanent, care is taken to ensure that users cannot create inodes owned
by these UIDs, so that persistancy cannot be acquired. This is
implemented via a BPF-LSM module that ensures that any member of a
userns allocated that way cannot create files unless the mount it
operates on is owned by the userns itself, or is explicitly
allowelisted.
